Dear fellow ministers of the Gospel, the Spirit of God gives us a clear hierarchy of pursuit in 1 Corinthians 14: follow after Agape (love) and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but above all, that you may prophesy. While praying in tongues beautifully builds up your personal spirit, prophecy carries the distinct power to edify, exhort, and comfort the entire body of Christ. Our primary drive as leaders must always be to excel in the edifying of the church, coveting the best gifts required to build up God's people.
Releasing the Rhema Word
Prophecy is not a passive religious exercise; it is an active force of creation. Hebrews 11:3 reveals that the worlds were framed by the Rhema of God—the specific, spoken word for the now. When you prophesy, you are releasing this now-word according to the proportion of faith given to you (Romans 12:6).
At the time of speaking, circumstances may look contrary, but say it anyway! You are called to do the impossible, unimaginable, and unthinkable by calling things that be not as though they were.
If we do nothing, events will unfold anyway, but they won't be what we want. We are called to frame the course of our lives, our cities, and our era (aion). God has given us the ultimate authority: the Name of Jesus Christ—the biggest name set far above all principalities. He has given us the power of attorney to use His Name.
If you have a situation today that needs a change, this is the moment. Prophesy and frame your world!
