Every generation of ministers inherits the Gospel, but not every generation stands at the same point in God’s calendar. Ours is a defining hour; a time we are on a mission, racing for the last lost soul to be saved (Romans 11:25).

A minister on this mission understands the timing. He knows that every day counts towards reaching the ‘last man’. These are prophetic moments; the closing stretch of the Church age, the extra time in the race set before us. Therefore, we must run with urgency and certainty (1 Corinthians 9:26). We must win this final race, and we will win.

The minister on a mission is first a praying minister. He knows that prayer is beyond a preparation tool for ministry; prayer itself is ministry. His prayers are kingdom-focused. He intercedes for utterance and opportunities for the Gospel, and for the people entrusted to him and fellow ministers of the gospel. Like incense rising continually before God, his intercession advances the Kingdom.

The minister on a mission manifests the Truth of the Gospel. No one manifests the truth he does not know. As ministers of the gospel, the realities of God’s Word must become living revelations in our spirits. Passion alone is not enough; zeal must be guided by accurate knowledge. Therefore, we must commit ourselves to the right spiritual information, for no minister can rise beyond the knowledge he has received and embodied. As ministers on a mission, our thoughts, plans, and priorities must revolve around reaching the last lost soul with the gospel. The race set before our generation is unique, and we have been specially enabled to execute it. Never before has the Church possessed such reach, technology, and such access to nations and languages, just as we have. The responsibility before us is enormous, but even greater is the grace upon us.

We have moved into a new phase of our work; person-to-person evangelism. Somewhere, the final brick in God’s building is waiting to be laid. Somewhere, the last soul is waiting to hear. We must therefore run with purpose, clarity, and urgency, knowing that this is our moment in God’s plan
