Every building tells a story. From the laying of its first stone to the final brick that completes it, each stage carries purpose and meaning. However, no wise builder celebrates a half-finished house; the true rejoicing comes only when the last brick is set in place. 

In the same way, our mandate as ministers of the Gospel will be complete when the work is finished this year; when the Gospel has reached every nation, and every soul destined to be a part of the Body of Christ is brought in. 

The Scriptures give us this divine imagery. The Apostle Paul declared, “For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building” (1 Corinthians 3:9). And again, in Ephesians 2:20–22, we see the Church described as ‘a holy temple, “built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone… in whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God through the Spirit.” 

Every soul won is a brick laid in this eternal edifice. Romans 11:25 points us to a definite, divine timeline: “until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.” That ‘fulness’ refers to a specific number that the Lord is waiting for. And we have been entrusted with the mandate to bring it to completion this very year, after which the Lord will return. 

Think of this: What if the last soul to be saved is through the church you are pioneering this year, or from the citywide crusade you are organising in your nation and beyond? What if it is the discipleship work you are meant to finish with those entrusted to you? The Lord is counting on us to complete His building this year, and we are at it! 

No wise builder abandons an unfinished house. Likewise, we must not relent until every nation has heard, every language is reached, and every one has had the opportunity to receive Christ. The Spirit of God has set us on course, His Word has made the vision clear, and the mandate resounds with urgency: we are completing the full preaching of the Gospel this year!
