The Bible declares concerning the Lord Jesus in Philippians 2:9-10, "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;" All authority is vested in the name of Jesus, and we have been given the power of attorney to use that all-powerful Name.
In John 16:23, the Lord Jesus said "And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you." This verse of scripture reveals to the Church that praying to Jesus in the name of Jesus is not accurate at all. The right way to pray is to the Father in the Name of Jesus.
The Lord had previously said in John 14:13-14 "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it." He gave us His name to act in His stead. In this special type of prayer, you are not talking to God; you are using the Name of Jesus in situations and circumstances as one who has been given the legal right to do so.
Imagine you gave your lawyer the power of attorney to act on your behalf, he wouldn't act towards you, but towards others. The Lord gave us the power of attorney to function on His behalf. How then could you be denied when you ask something in His name? It's not possible!
The Lord Jesus is right now in Heaven and so prayer becomes our way of carrying on His marvelous and amazing works while we are here on earth. For those of us in Christ today, prayer is not a tool to get what we want because all things have already been granted us in Christ (1 Corinthians 3:21-22), rather it is a veritable tool for enforcing the Father's will in the world and affairs of men.
Give time to prayer like never before especially praying in the Spirit. Use the name of Jesus to bring the will of God to bear in your nation, community, your ministry, and in your personal life. No matter what comes your way, you will always win.
