REDEEMING THE TIME- LIVING IN TIME AND FOR ETERNITY

As we go about the work of the gospel, we must remember that there is a time given to the Church before the Rapture, and we don’t have much time left.

God has a timing for the Church age, and as Ministers of the Gospel, we must be conscious of the profound responsibility we carry and make the most of our time for the kingdom. Amidst the busyness of life and ministry, one may lose sight of what truly matters and get caught up in ministry routines. That is why the scripture exhorts in John 5.16 KJV, “Redeeming the time because the days are evil.”

To redeem the time means prioritising the things that matter most to God by making every moment count for the kingdom; in prayer, soulwinning, preaching, mentoring, among others. Redeeming the time means seizing every chance for kingdom impact. We must always find the opportunity to use all that God has given to us to advance the work of the kingdom because the opportunities for winning souls are greater now than ever before. In John 4:35, our Lord Jesus told His disciples, "Lift up your eyes and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest!"

As we go about the work of the gospel, we must remember that there is a time given to the Church before the Rapture, and we don’t have much time left. Therefore, just like our Lord Jesus, we must work the works of Him that sent us while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work (John 9.4). We must be about the Master’s business at all times. The things that the Lord has entrusted to us as ministers, we must make haste with it because the King’s business requires haste (1 Samuel 21.8).

While we have schedules, daily obligations, and routines that come with life and ministry, we must not lose sight of the purpose of our divine calling. Align your daily routines with His eternal purpose and you will find fulfilment each step of the way. Then you could talk like Apostle Paul, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith…” (2 Timothy 4:7-8).
